I can't tell if you're a brilliant 19 year old or a socially retarded but intelligent 55 year old, but either way, I enjoy your site immensely.

And while that sounds like an insult, based on your content I expect you'll forgiv emy backhanded compliment.

Keep posting, I like the way you think, though perhaps a personal exposition would be useful for both of us, i'll leave it to you to decide if your brave enough for that level of non-ego driven exposure.

Is the reference to Boyce and DiPrima's differential equations book?

Whether or not that's the case, I'd be interested to see more of your mathematical models.

Alex Wallenwein (of The Euro vs Dollar Monitor) has been closing his recent articles with the question “got gold?” but for his most recent article he closes with the following sentence: “Even owning gold will not protect you from this.”

Gold could help in the short term, maybe even the medium term, but in the long term individuals can’t survive if the whole of society is crumbling around them.

I take a slightly different approach...rather then assuming a(that the economy will decline) and b(that the interest rate will stay at 4.5%) I make the assumption that as the debt is retired...all that cash must go somewhere...thus excess cash and fewer US bonds makes the bonds rise and the interest rate decline...as the process continues...
the economy has more access to cash and at lower interest rates thus creating a positive effect and people begin to notice that improvement and feel much better at having less debt..the result is that we begin to realize that having that debt has been the greatest burden to this country and without that debt we can reduce taxes and actually improve the quality of life for all....
